Delhi Police has said that there was a rise in cybercrimes in Delhi during the COVID-19-induced lockdown. As many as 135 cases of cybercrime, on an average, were reported in Delhi every day in May, police said after analysing nearly 33,000 cases registered till November this year. In January this year, 1,480 cybercrimes were reported against 4,188 cases in May.
An antitrust lawsuit by Texas and nine other states alleged that Google and Facebook, two of the biggest players in online advertising, consolidated their power and weakened competition through collusion. "Facebook decided to dangle the threat of competition in Google's face and then cut a deal to manipulate the auction," it said. High-ranking company officials approved the deal, it said.
Cloudtail India, the largest seller on Amazon India, suffered a major supply disruption after its GST registration was suspended in Haryana, which is its warehousing hub. The suspension was revoked after 20 hours, leading to confusion among vendors and ultimately a 1-2 day delay for inbound shipments. No specific reason for the suspension was stated.
A petition has been filed in the Delhi High Court seeking a detailed legal framework for regulating fintech companies such as Google, Facebook and Amazon.
